Testing Methods 

This study will be tested using these variables: 

 1. Examining the sleep patterns of the 16 residents chosen for the study for one month prior to the beginning of the testing period. The charge nurse on the second and third shift will conduct this by completing the attached form on a daily basis. This will be the pre test needed for comparison. The same form will then be used and analyzed for changes or maintained behavior noted.  

 2. Examining the eating pattern of the 16 residents chosen for the study for one month prior to the beginning of the testing period. The nursing staff will conduct this and the dietary staff on a daily basis as they record all food consumed for each of the three meals offered to the residents. Changes will be noted after the initial one month pre test is completed. Form will be completed daily by the charge nurse and audited by the Dietician.  

 3. PRN medication will be analyzed and evaluated by the psychiatrist associated with the study. The administration of the medications will be monitored on the nursesí records that are essential for state and federal regulations. One month prior to beginning this study, the PRN medications will be examined and recorded. Form will be completed by the charge nurse.  

 4. The clinician will be responsible in recording the behavior and success of the group itself. The clinician will be complete the attached form on a daily basis to record the "success" or correct answers and the variety of expressions used during the program.  

They will also be describing intimacy experienced by the participants.
